BETHLEHEM NATIVITY CHURCH

Church of the Nativity is the oldest church in the Holy Land still in use. It is supposed to have been built upon the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

The construction began in 326 AD, with the aid of the locall inhabitants who according to traditions believed that the cave in which Jesus Christ was born was at the area.

The church is currently in a bad shape and has been put on the Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites by the World Monuments Fund:
